Use the Terminal Command: chflags nohidden /Library/ or open /Library. The mkdir command is a shortcut for make directory. Then check the box for Show Library Folder. To create a folder on your Mac computer via your Terminal’s command line, you open your Terminal, and navigate to the directory where you want to create a folder, and run this command: mkdir name-of-your-folder. I’d imagine most people’s Downloads folder is littered with random stuff downloaded off the web. Select your User folder, and press Command+ J.
Unfortunately for me, the problem is within the Downloads folder and not the Desktop. You should now see your Desktop organized into Stacks.
From there, select Use Stacks. The process is pretty seamless and automatic. With Finder in the foreground, select View in the menubar. You can’t remove items from the Shared section. The sidebar link disappears, but the original item is still on your Mac. Remove an item: Drag the item icon out of the sidebar until you see the remove sign.
